Three generations of West Yorkshire family among five injured in head-on car crash

THREE members of one family from West Yorkshire  were among five people injured in a  two car head-on crash on the A65 near Ingleton.

All five people injured were taken to hospital after the accident involving a white Nissan Juke and a silver Mazda 4X4 on the A65 near Green Lane near Ingleton, North Yorkshire, just before 3pm on Saturday (July 21).

The driver of the Nissan, a woman from Steeton, Bradford, was airlifted to Preston Royal Infirmary following the collision.

Her 80-year-old mother and 23-year-old son were taken to hospital by ambulance.

The driver of the Mazda was taken to Lancaster Hospital by ambulance, along with his eight-year-old passenger.

The Mazda was travelling towards Ingleton and the Nissan was was heading in the opposite direction when the crash happened

The A65 was closed in both directions for a number of hours.

Officers spoke to witnesses at the scene of the collision, however anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dash cam footage and has not yet spoken to the police is urged to come forward.
