One officer suffered neck injuries and was taken to York District Hospital for checks, but he was not seriously injured.

The suspect car was abandoned at premises on York Road in Malton. Officers traced the men and found them at a property nearby.

A 19-year-old man from Ipswich, a 20-year-old from Malton and a 17-year-old, also from Malton, were arrested. They remained in police custody yesterday.

The officers recovered steel cable that they believe had been stolen from the site.

Officers have asked for anyone with information about stolen metal to call them on the non-emergency number, 101.
