The 13 young women preparing for Yorkshire’s Three Peaks walk on May 2 includes her sisters, Annabel and Suzie.

They are aiming to raise £5,000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance which airlifted Miss Lockey, 22, from Halifax to Leeds General Infirmary where she died two days later.

Her family say the air ambulance allowed them to say goodbye and for her to become an organ donor.

Her cousin Laura Fairbank, who is taking part in the walk, described Miss Lockey as “bubbly, fun, vibrant, caring and beautiful” who was much missed and loved by all who knew her.

“We are doing the challenge as Georgie loved walking, particularly in the Shibden Valley with Roxy, the family dog,” she said.

“We think this walk would be something that Georgie would do herself. We want to give back to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance which helped and cared for her on that day, and keep Georgie’s memory alive.”

The group’s Just Giving page was launched on Miss Lockey’s birthday, March 26.

Her mum Carol Lockey raised £400 for the same charity by holding a birthday tea party in memory of her daughter.

Other fund-raising events have raised £12,000.
