Tiers of joy for Jubilee
Bettys gathered together the cream of Yorkshire’s young creative talent yesterday to view the magnificent Diamond Jubilee cake they have helped design.
The master confectioners showed off the cake before the family business delivers it to Buckingham Palace on Friday.
Hundreds of children sent in their most imaginative decorative ideas to help inspire confectioners at the Craft Bakery in Harrogate including Eve Macdonald, above, from Ben Rhydding Primary School.
The four-tier hexagonal cake, standing 72cm tall and weighing around 14 kilos, has been made to a Bettys traditional recipe and hand- decorated with Royal icing.
