Toad artists given chance to stay one jump ahead

ARTISTS are being asked to hop to it and come up with designs for a massive toad art installation.

The deadline is fast approaching for creative spirits wanting an input into Larkin with Toads, a 10-week event starting on July 17.

The project – which has refused to croak despite Hull Council pulling 200,000 funding – is seeking innovative designs to display on a toad trail around the city.

Organisers are redoubling efforts to pull in private sponsors after Hull Council withdrew its contribution from the 292,000 event last Monday.

The successful artists will be paid for their designs as well as applying them to one of the one-metre high fibreglass models.

The idea for Larkin with Toads came from the poet and former Hull University librarian's two poems Toads and Toads Revisited.

A full artist's brief is available on request from Artlink or by emailing [email protected]. Design deadline is 4pm this Friday.
