THE owner of a dog which was tied to a tree, tortured and burned to death on a Yorkshire housing estate yesterday described how the animal had been as “soft as a bottle of pop”.
Rachelle Bannister-Hind told how the animal, called Issac, was snatched from a garden in the city, led into scrubland and subjected to the horrific attack.
Police have arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal. He has since been released on bail. The dog was found on a footpath of Manor Laith Road at the weekend. He was identified by his microchip.
Ms Bannister-Hind, 42, said: “I am absolutely shocked at the level of violence. I didn’t think a human being could possibly do something like that.”
