The world’s greatest cycle race will set off from Yorkshire this weekend and to mark the occasion The Yorkshire Post will publish a special edition of our flagship Yorkshire Vision magazine tomorrow highlighting the amazing business opportunities that the Tour de France will bring to the region.

What started with one man’s vision – Gary Verity of Welcome to Yorkshire – will become a reality on July 5 and 6 when hundreds of millions of people across the world will turn their attention to watch the Tour.

Yorkshire Vision, our showcase for the region’s business gems, will explore the opportunities that our postcard to the world will bring our already strong and resilient economy.

The glossy supplement will reveal how Gary Verity brought the world’s most famous cycling race to the region and his hopes for the Tour de France legacy.

It will also look at Yorkshire’s cycling prospects and the big names to watch at le Grand Départ.

Other features will focus on the business impact as The Yorkshire Grand Départ International Business Festival shines a light on the region’s strongest sectors and showcases the leading industries to a global audience.

We will also look at the tourism impact: Demand for accommodation has soared in hotels and B&Bs along the route. Owners will explain how they are maximising the economic benefits of le Tour while tourism chiefs explain why Yorkshire is the best place to spend your summer holiday.
