Tourists put Sistine Chapel art at risk

Dust and pollution brought into the Sistine Chapel by tourists are slowly destroying the chapel's masterpieces by Michelangelo, the Vatican Museums chief has warned.

Antonio Paolucci said that to preserve Michelangelo’s Last Judgment and the other treasures, new measures were needed to control the sweat, breath and dust from 15,000 to 20,000 people a day.
