Town’s revamp to benefit trades people

BUSINESSES are invited to be part of a multi-million pound transformation of the Grade I listed Piece Hall in Halifax and the creation of a new library.

Calderdale Council is inviting trades people from plumbers to masons to meet shortlisted contractors bidding for the contract.

The event is at the Heath Training Centre, Halifax on March 7 from 10.30am.

Council leader Tim Swift said: “This is a chance for local businesses to be involved in the transformation of one of the 40 greatest public squares in the world, and to contribute to a new library and archive for the community.

“It’s an exciting time for the region – these projects are a major part of our vision to regenerate Halifax town centre by investing in a range of leisure, retail and cultural facilities.”
