Traffic diverted after man falls from Leeds Stanningley Bypass bridge

Traffic coming into Leeds is being diverted after a man fell from a bridge over the Stanningley Bypass.

The incident occurred on the bridge close to the Morrison’s supermarket just after 2.30pm.

Police said the man was found in the carriageway on the Leeds-bound side and is believed to have come from the bridge.

Traffic coming into the city centre is currently being diverted to Henconner Lane.

The man has been taken to Leeds General Infirmary where he is being treated for a serious head injury.
