transformation at Granary wharf

After its £40m make-over, the new-look Granary Wharf is inviting independent retailers to its canalside location.

Final preparation work is taking place to transform two railway arches into The Hop, a real ale and live music pub beneath the towering presence of Candle House.

The Hop, when it opens on March 26, will be the 14th pub for Ossett Brewery, which was founded in 1997 by ex-Tetley Leeds brewer Bob Lawson, now the company chairman.

Granary Wharf is also home to Japanese eatery Wasabi Teppan-Yaki, which continued trading throughout building work on site over the last three years. Close by is Leeds’s newest hotel, City Inn, which has its own bars and restaurants.
