Dramatic video as Humber lifeboat plucks sick seaman to safety

A LIFEBOAT crew was scrambled last night to rescue a stricken seaman.

The Humber lifeboat was launched shortly after 8pm to a standby boat which had requested medical assistance for one of its crew members.

After linking a doctor to the vessel by radio, it was decided that the casualty would need to hospital treatment.

Humber RNLI made its way to meet the vessel 30 miles north east of Spurn Point.

Sam Parkhouse, a volunteer with the RNLI crew, said: “Although the gentlemen was ill there was no immediate concern or signs of any deterioration, we monitored him on our passage before he was transferred to hospital for diagnosis and treatment.”
