Driver injured in crash after car failed to stop for police in Bradford

A man is in hospital with serious head injuries this morning (Saturday) following a late night crash in Bradford.

It happened at around 11:55pm last night on Highgate Road at its junction with Union House Lane in the Queensbury area of the city.

West Yorkshire Police said that a Toyota Auris which had earlier failed to stop for a police in a marked car, collided with a house on Smithy Fold before hitting a garden wall.

The 22 year old driver of the vehicle suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Leeds General infirmary for treatment. He remains in a critical condition.

Any witnesses who saw the Toyota prior to or during the incident are being asked to contact police via the non-emergency number 101.
