Driver released from hospital after serious Selby crash

A woman seriously injured in a car crash in North Yorkshire yesterday has now been released from hospital.

She is in her forties and was the driver of the only vehicle involved in the incident - a brown Vauxhall Meriva that left the road and came to rest on its side.

The woman was rescued from the car by fire-fighters and taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The road was closed for almost three hours.

North Yorkshire Police are appealing to anyone who saw the car driving along the A63, between Cliffe and Hemingborough, in the minutes leading up to the collision or who witnessed it, which happened at around 4.25pm, to contact them.
