Hit-run driver kills six year-old boy in Wakefield
The incident happened in Fishpond Lane, Wakefield, at around 12.20pm yesterday.
West Yorkshire Police said the boy was a pedestrian and was struck by a grey or light-coloured small hatchback-type car which failed to stop.

Hide AdDetective Chief Inspector Simon Bottomley, of the force’s homicide and major inquiry team, said: “This is a tragic incident which has devastated the boy’s family.
“At this stage we believe the driver is a young white male and the vehicle is likely to have front-end damage as a result of the collision.
“I would urge anyone with information to come forward and contact police.”
