Lanes closed on M62 as emergency services called to HGV crash near Brighouse

There has been a crash involving two HGVs on the M62 in West Yorkshire.

It happened on the westbound carriageway between junction 25 at Brighouse and junction 24 at Ainley Top at about 8am.

Two lorries have collided and the load of one HGV has spilled onto the carriageway.

West Yorkshire Police and highways officers were called to the scene and closed lanes one and two while the debris was cleared.

A spokesperson for Highways England confirmed that no injuries were reported.

Due to the complex recovery of the severely damaged HGVs, some lanes are likely to remain closed until the early afternoon.

Traffic is now delayed back to Hartshead Services.
