Man dies after being hit by taxi near Hull

Police are investigating following the death of a man who was hit by a taxi in Hessle, near Hull.

The man, in his 50s, was on Woodfield Lane close to the junction with Cliff Top Lane, when he was involved in the collision with a black Mercedes Vito taxi shortly before 2am on Sunday.

Police and paramedics attended the scene but the man was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw the black Mercedes Vito taxi in the Cliff Top Lane area during the early hours of the morning.
