One dead, another hurt as car ploughs into teenagers

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a car ploughed into two 15 year-olds as they crossed the road, leaving one dead and the other with life-threatening injuries.

The schoolboy and girl were taken to Hull Royal Infirmary where the boy later died.

The pair were crossing the road just before 11pm last night in the north Lincolnshire village of Barton-upon-Humber when the accident happened.

The boy was later named as Koen Allwood from Barton.

Two 23 year-old men in the Peugeot were uninjured in the incident. They were both arrested at the scene and are in custody assisting police with there enquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident on Dam Road, close to the junction with Humber Road.
