Plane forced to make unscheduled landing due to ‘disruptive’ passenger

A PLANE was forced to make an unscheduled landing at Manchester Airport because of a “disruptive” passenger.

The Qatar Airways flight from New York to Doha was diverted after the pilot called for police assistance to deal with a man on board, an airport spokeswoman said.

The “disruptive” passenger was removed from the Boeing 777 plane after it landed shortly before 9am yesterday, she added.

Meanwhile, a female passenger was also offloaded after she reported feeling unwell. She was taken to a local hospital for “precautionary checks” and is due to continue her journey to Doha on the next available flight, the spokeswoman said. Flight QR702, which took off from New York at around 9.45pm local time on New Year’s Eve, left Manchester Airport at 11am.
