Police name man killed in Sheffield car crash

A man who died in a car crash in Sheffield has been named by police who have also made an arrest in connection with the incident.

Karl Marsden, aged 25, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash which happened on Station Road, Halfway towards Killamarsh at around 11.40pm on Saturday.

Two other men were also involved in the collision where a black Vauxhall Zafira collided with a barrier. A 31-year-old sustained serious injuries and currently remains in hospital receiving treatment and a 25-year-old sustained minor injuries.

South Yorkshire Police said that a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving in connection with the investigation. He has since been released under investigation as enquiries continue.

Officers investigating the collision are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen what happened, or saw the car travelling in the area prior to the collision, to contact them on 101 quoting incident number 1248 of 1 July 2017.
