Sheffield: Schoolboy fights for life after collision

A NINE year-old schoolboy was fighting for life in Sheffield this morning after he was hit by a car after school yesterday.

The accident occurred on Harborough Avenue, close to its junction with Fretson Road, Manor, at around 4.30pm yesterday.

Police said the driver of a blue Honda Civic swerved to avoid the child but was unable to avoid a collision.

The injured boy was rushed to Sheffield Children’s Hospital, where he was detained with life threatening injuries.

A police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is under way.
