Teenager killed in car collision in Dore near Sheffield just six days before Christmas

A teenager has died following a horrific car crash near Sheffield after the vehicle he was travelling in lost control at a bend.

The 19-year-old passenger was killed after the silver Ford Fiesta crashed on Hathersage Road in Dore on Saturday night – just six days before Christmas.

South Yorkshire Police said that a 17-year-old boy was driving the Fiesta and is thought to have lost control on a bend, causing the car to flip.

The 19-year-old, who has not been named by police, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

His family have been informed and are currently being supported by specially-trained officers.

Police issued an appeal on Sunday for anybody who witnessed the crash at around 10.15pm, or who may have dashcam footage of the Fiesta in the moments before.
