Teenager seriously injured after being hit by car

Police are investigating after a teenage girl was left with serious injuries after being hit by a car.

The incident happened on Slaithwaite Road at Meltham at the junction with Red Lane at around 3.47pm yesterday.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire police said that a 14-year-old girl was near to the junction and a black Renault collided with her.　

The vehicle was heading in the direction towards Slaithwaite.　

The teenager suffered serious injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment.
