Two arrested after fatal crash in Bradford

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on Wakefield Road at the junction with Lorne Street in Bradford.

At around 6:30pm last night a blue Audi S3 Quattro being driven out of the city towards Dudley Hill collided with a 46 year old man who died at the scene.

The accident, near a pedestrian crossing, is understood to have involved two vehicles, one of which caught fire as it went out of control and hit a barrier alongside the road.

The road was closed until 1:30am as officers conducted their investigations.

Two men aged 25 and 18 were subsequently arrested for causing death by dangerous driving. Both men remain in custody.
