Treasured egg lasts over 50 Easters

She has kept the chocolate Easter egg which was given to her by her son David, 63, in a casket because she says the egg, which has even survived moving house, is too good to eat.

The great-grandmother-of-ten, of Pontefract, showed remarkable willpower when she was given the beautiful Needlers’ Easter Casket from her son David, 63, who had saved up to buy the treat 52 years ago.

She brings out the mouth-watering treat once a year to gaze at.

It is wrapped in white and pink foil with a pretty pink bow and is nestled in an impressive gold casket with three boxes of chocolates, which are also more than half a century old.
