Tribute staged to ‘greatest war poet’ Owen
THE war poetry of Wilfrid Owen comes to Scunthorpe later this year.
Bullets and Daffodils, which tells the story of the doomed poet’s life from his childhood in Birkenhead to his death in the trenches, will be performed at the The Plowright Theatre on Thursday November 6.
Narrated by Christopher Timothy and Mark Reed, son of Oliver Reed, the script contains contributions from Doctor Who writer David Quantick, while the score includes There’s No Way Out Of Here, donated free of charge by Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour.
