Tributes to mother, 40, found dead in city flat

THE family of a woman found dead at a flat in Hull have said she will be “sadly missed and never forgotten”.

The body of Dawn Warburton, 40, was found at an address in Westbourne Avenue on Saturday, April 13, after a concerned member of the public raised the alarm at about 9pm.

Police said the mother-of-two died as a result of “compression to her neck” and are treating her death as unexplained.

In a statement on behalf of her family, her older sister Julie Thompson said: “Dawn was loving, caring, kind and thoughtful. Dawn always offered a beautiful smile to life, which will remain with us all forever.

“Dawn and I had a very strong sister / best friend relationship and I will always remember the fun and happy times that we spent together, of which there were many.

“All of our family have their own special memories of time spent with Dawn, and each of us remember her in our own special way.

“The news which came to us all the weekend before last has devastated us all as a family and life will never be the same without her.

“We would like to thank everybody who has offered kind messages of love and support to all of our family. They have all been very much appreciated.”

She added: “We understand that it maybe some time before we know and fully understand what happened to Dawn. When that day comes, we hope it may bring some closure for us all.”

A man arrested in connection with Miss Warburton’s death has been released on bail.

Tributes have also been paid to Peter Finch, 46, a cyclist who died after a collision with a car on Derringham Bank roundabout in Hull on Easter Sunday.
