Tributes to young mother killed in horror crash in Barnsley

Tributes have been paid to a young mother killed in a horror crash in Barnsley.

The 29-year-old, named locally as Lorna Humble, died when the Citroen C1 she was travelling in was involved in a collision with a concrete mixer lorry and a silver Vauxhall Vectra on Industry Road, Carlton, at 1.40pm yesterday.

Heartbroken friends of Lorna, who had a young daughter, have paid tribute to her on Facebook.

Bex Ainsworth posted: "Such saddening, heartbreaking news. R.I.P beautiful lady."

And Chloe Morgan wrote: "Rest in paradise beautiful. You and your baby girl will be in my thoughts. Fly high, you'll never be forgotten Lorna."

Steven Patrick Murphy described Lorna as a 'lovely person' and said she was 'bright and bubbly'.

"You will be missed, I can't believe it. Thoughts to family and friends. R.I.P, you will be sadly missed," he added.

Bobbie Murphy also expressed his shock at Lorna's death.

"I can not believe it. R.I.P beautiful, Always take the best. That poor little girl, I'm in tears. You are going to be missed by many."

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "Collision investigators are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision at Barnsley.

"A 29-year old woman died shortly after the incident and a 27-year-old woman was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after the collision on Industry Road.

"The black Citroen C1 in which they were travelling was involved in a collision with a concrete mixer lorry and a silver Vauxhall Vectra."
