PROPERTY business leaders last night raised more than £100,000 for the Yorkshire region of Variety, the children’s charity.
The Yorkshire Property Awards have become one of the most high-profile events in the region’s property calendar and this year attracted an audience of 800 people including some of the region’s best-known business figures along with representatives drawn from leading companies and the property sector.
The main sponsor of this year’s awards, law firm Addleshaw Goddard, presented Trinity Leeds with the best commercial development award. Gerald Jennings, of Land Securities, won a lifetime achievement award in recognition of his work on the £350m development.
GMI Energy won the corporate social responsibility award; Laing O’Rourke was named best contractor, Rex Procter and Partners won best property consultant while Knight Frank and Barker Proudlove won best agency awards.
Debra Stephenson, the Hull-born actress and impressionist, compered the ceremony at Rudding Park in Harrogate.
