Triumphal return for Moore’s Arch

AN iconic sculpture by Castleford-born artist Henry Moore is back on public show in Kensington Palace Gardens, London, 20 years after it was dismantled after showing signs of movement.

The Arch, which was unveiled by Michael Heseltine in 1980, quickly became a tourist attraction but was removed after cracks appeared, possibly caused by subsidence.

The 60-tonne marble sculpture, which is now thought to be worth millions, was donated to the nation by the artist in 1978.
