Troll says sorry on TV
after boxer hits back

An “embarrassed” Twitter troll apologised live on television yesterday to a boxer he enraged so much that the sportsman put a “bounty” on his tormentor’s head and drove more than 60 miles to his street.

Former Sheffield United and Hull City footballer Curtis Woodhouse had been receiving abusive tweets from James O’Brien for eight months before he finally snapped when he was branded a “disgrace” after losing his English light-welterweight title last week.

He drove from East Yorkshire to Sheffield where he tweeted a photo of Mr O’Brien’s street.

Woodhouse told ITV’s Daybreak he finally decided to act after seeing how worried his wife was about the abuse.

Mr O’Brien said he realised he had “let everyone down” with his abuse. “I was really childish. I can only offer my deepest apologies to anyone I ever abused on Twitter,” he said.
