TV spot for Douglas Adams's detective
Comic actor Stephen Mangan is to bring to life late writer Douglas Adams's detective Dirk Gently for the first time on screen in a new BBC adaptation.
Mangan, best known for his role in Green Wing, will star in the BBC4 film alongside Cold Feet star Helen Baxendale.
Adams, who created The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy, created the anti-hero in his cult novel Dirk Gently’s Holistic DetectiveAgency in 1987.
