TV spotlight on cathedral

THE first of two BBC Songs of Praise programmes featuring Wakefield Cathedral is screened this Sunday.

Viewers will see presenter Bill Turnbull, above, touring the cathedral’s nave, which has recently been restored and transformed in a £3m project.

The old pews have gone to create a flexible open space for worship, public gatherings and other community uses.
