Twins peak

STAFF and pupils at a primary school are seeing double after five pairs of twins enrolled for the new term.

The four-year-old twins, left to right, Harry and Jamie; Jasmine and Lucy; Connie and Dylan; Ruby and Jake; and Alysa and Keira, have joined the reception year at Quay Primary School in Bridlington and represent a sixth of the intake this year.

Two of the sets of twins, Harry and Jamie and Jasmine and Lucy, are identical but the similarities do not stop there – Ruby and Jake also have two cousins starting in the same year.

“We have two other sets of twins in the whole school but to have five in one year is very rare,” said headteacher Lyndsay Baldock. “I’ve never known it in my six years here and our office manager has never known it in the 25 years she has been here.

“They are not all identical. If they were I’m sure the teachers would find a way to cope.”
