Twitter helps to reunite iPad and Thai owner

Police in Harrogate used Twitter to reunite a lost iPad with its owner – who lives nearly 6,000 miles away in Thailand.

The iPad was handed to Harrogate Police earlier this year and PC Ed Rogerson was convinced social media could help find its owner.

He discovered photos on it of a flight ticket and others he believed were of the female owner.

He tweeted her photo, which was re-tweeted by over 2,000 people, and using the name from the ticket he identified a Twitter account, contacted one of her followers, and ultimately tracked her down.

Owner Jukjik, from the Nakhon Ratchasima Province of Thailand, said: “I was very, very pleased when I heard my iPad had been found. Now I can see all the photos I took when I was in England.”
