It is the latest phase of Operation Ultimatum, an investigation prompted by the theft of vast amounts of rail track across South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and the West Midlands.

Ten people were also arrested in November as part of the operation, which involved more than 100 officers from across BTP.

The team included specialist officers from the force’s high tech crime unit and cash search dogs.
