Two die, three hurt in spate of crashes

TWO people died and three others were injured in a series of crashes in East Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire.

A motorcyclist aged 21 from Wrawby, North Lincolnshire, was killed in a collision with an Isuzu Denver at the junction of the A18 and the B1206 in Wrawby on Sunday.

The driver, an 80-year-old local man, and his passenger, a woman aged 75, suffered minor injuries in the incident at 5pm.

A man aged 27 was yesterday in a critical condition after being airlifted to Hull Royal Infirmary following a crash in Grimsby on Friday.

The motorcyclist was hurt in a crash with a van in Chelmsford Avenue at 2.16pm that left the driver, a man in his 60s, with injuries to his hand.

Police yesterday named a pedestrian who died after being hit by a car near Hull last week.

John Horner, 69, of Camperdown, Bilton, near Hull, suffered serious head injuries when he was hit by a grey Vauxhall Zafira at the junction of Main Street and Ark Royal in Bilton at about 3.30pm last Wednesday. He died in hospital on Friday evening.

Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses to all three incidents.
