Two hurt and driver cut free from car after A64 collision

A van overturned onto its roof and a car driver had to be cut free from his vehicle by firefighters following a collision on the A64 near Stockton-on-the-Forest, North Yorkshire.

Both vehicles, a white Ford Transit van and a silver Citroen C3, veered off the road while they were being driven in the same direction, towards York, close to the Highwayman Café at 6.25pm on Wednesday.

The female driver of the van and the male car driver of the Citroen both suffered minor injuries and were taken to York District Hospital for treatment.

North Yorkshire Police would like to speak to anyone who was travelling on the A64 between the Highwayman Café and Towthorpe crossroads at the time, who may have seen what happened or witnessed either vehicle prior to the collision.

Police are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a red Volvo, which was turning right from the A64 into Barr Lane in the direction of Stockton-on-the-Forest.
