Two men injured as small plane crashes into garden

TWO men were seriously injured when a small plane crashed into the garden of a bungalow in Hampshire.

A spokesman for Hampshire Police said the single-engine plane appeared to have clipped the roof of the property in Totton, near Southampton, and a greenhouse before crashing at about 2.15pm yesterday.

It is believed the aircraft was flying from the Isle of Wight to another destination in Hampshire and it was not clear what caused the incident.

Both men were taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch has been informed and is investigating.

A spokeswoman for South Central Ambulance Service

said one of the men suffered injuries which were not thought to be life-threatening but the second was in a more serious condition.
