Two-murder accused held in custody

A man yesterday denied the murders of a vicar and a retired teacher.

Stephen Farrow, 47, appeared briefly at Bristol Crown Court to plead not guilty to murdering Rev John Suddards in Thornbury, Gloucestershire, between February 12 and 15 and Betty Yates in Bewdley, Worcestershire, between January 1 and 5.

Farrow, of no fixed address, did admit the unconnected charge of burgling Vine Cottage in Thornbury between December 21 last year and January 3 this year.
