Two seriously injured in collision near Selby

A motorcyclist and his female passenger were seriously injured in a collision with a car in the Selby area at the weekend.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which occurred on Bishopdyke Road at the junction with Biggin Crossroads in Sherburn in Elmet at 1pm on Saturday (March 11).

The rider and pillion of the motorbike, a man and a woman from West Yorkshire, both aged 53, were taken to Leeds General Infirmary.

A local 29-year-old woman who was driving the car - a silver Ford S-Max - is helping North Yorkshire Police with their enquiries into the collision.
