007 up: Adele to lead British Oscar charge

All-conquering pop star Adele will lead the British Oscar charge after she was nominated for her Bond theme Skyfall.

The 24-year-old’s nomination for best original song at the 2013 Academy Awards was one of five nominations for Skyfall, the first Oscar recognition for the Bond franchise since 1982.

Adele, who took to Twitter to thank the academy, said: “Oh my god I feel like Meryl Streep!! Thank you x.”
