Another Royal wedding as Eugenie to tie knot

Princess Eugenie, daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York, and Jack Brooksbank, a public-schooled party “fixer” and manager of a Mayfair nightclub, announced their engagement yesterday.

Her parents, who have remained close since their 1996 divorce, both spoke of their happiness following the announcement, which was marked by the release of a series of engagement photographs, taken in the picture gallery at Buckingham Palace, in which Eugenie shows off her padparadscha sapphire and diamond engagement ring.

The Duke said of his future son-in-law: “Jack is an absolutely outstanding young man and Eugenie and he have got to know each other over a number of years, and I’m really thrilled.”

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh wished their granddaughter “all the best”.

The autumn wedding will take place at Windsor Castle, where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will marry in May.
