Appeal follows pizza worker’s fatal stabbing

DETECTIVES were continuing inquiries yesterday into the death of a man found with a fatal stab injury in Sheffield.

Zabihullah Rafiq, 30, was found with a stab wound to his chest just after 4am on Sunday yards from his home in the Bankwood block of flats on Callow Mount in the Gleadless Valley area.

He worked at Pizza Pronto on Glossop Road, opposite the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, and left work at 3.45am in his silver VW Golf. He parked his car near his home but did not reach his door.

Detective Superintendent Andy Thompson said: “I want to appeal for anyone in the area at the time, taxi drivers, people returning from a night out or local residents, to come forward with information.

“We’re not sure of the motive behind this attack at this stage so any piece of information could be crucial.”
