Brides enter the Twilight zone

Wedding fever gripped Oxford Street in London yesterday as scores of brides dressed in white to line up in an ambitious effort to break a world record – although there were no bridegrooms in sight.

All the women were wearing wedding dresses, complete with veils in some cases, to set a Guinness World Record for the longest chain of ‘brides’ ever seen.

The event outside record store HMV was held to celebrate the release on DVD of cult romantic vampire film The Twilight Saga: Twilight Breaking Dawn.

The brides picked up early copies of the film starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson from the store. The movie, which features a wedding, has taken an incredible $700m worldwide at the box office despite being generally panned by critics.
