Call centre man denies joint ‘mission to kill’ girl

A CALL centre worker accused of being jointly responsible for the brutal killing of a teenager denied any responsibility for her death in evidence yesterday.

Laura Wilson, 17, was repeatedly stabbed and dumped in a canal near Rotherham after telling the families of two Asian men that she had affairs with both.

Laura’s ex-lover Ishaq Hussain, 22, who had a brief fling with her after which she gave birth to a daughter, denies her murder.

The jury at Sheffield Crown Court has been told that Hussain’s friend Ashtiaq Asghar, 18, has admitted killing the teenage mother.

Both men, according to the prosecution, were jointly responsible for her death with student Asghar carrying out the killing after Laura was lured to the canal in October last year.

Hussain, of Holmes, Rotherham, told the court he had not planned anything with Asghar.

When Hussain was asked by defence counsel Simon Csoka if he thought Asghar had a plan to kill the teenage mother he replied: “No.”

Hussain said he had no reason to harbour any thoughts of revenge against Laura.

The prosecution have claimed the pair mounted a “mission to kill”.

Asghar is alleged to have sent a series of texts to Hussain in the days before Laura was killed.

One to Hussain referred to “sending the kaffir bitch to hell” but he said: “I don’t think he was referring to anybody.”

When he received another text from Asghar about buying a 9.6mm “shooter” for £400 he told the court: “I thought he had sent it to the wrong person.”

Hussain said he had a sexual relationship with Laura for about three weeks.

It started just one week after his arranged marriage which he says was never consummated.

The trial continues.
