Cameron to unveil small business fund

David Cameron will today reveal plans to help hundreds of small businesses with a £95m funding package backed by high street banks.

Ministers hope the schemes will create at least 4,000 jobs and unlock about £500m of new investment by small and medium-sized enterprises.

Administered by RBS, NatWest and HSBC, they will provide grants to businesses which are unable to secure commercial funding for their projects.

Mr Cameron is expected to say the grants will “help areas of our country that other forms of business lending can’t reach”.
