Dennis prepares to be licked
Stamps featuring characters from some of Britain’s best-loved comic books will be issued by the Royal Mail.
The new range of 10 first-class stamps will include Dennis the Menace (illustrated above in front of the Desperate Dan statue in Dundee, the home of comic publishers DC Thomson) and Roy of the Rovers in a celebration of Britain’s “uniquely eccentric comics”, Royal Mail said. The stamps, which go on sale today, mark the 75th anniversary of the country’s longest-running comic, The Dandy.
