Flood of tributes for tragic three-year-old Mikaeel

Rosdeep Kular, 33, is due to appear before Edinburgh Sheriff Court after she was arrested by officers following the discovery of a child’s body in Fife, about 20 miles from the family home in Edinburgh.

Flowers and soft toys have been placed at a small park near the flat where Mikaeel lived in Ferry Gait Crescent in Edingburgh.

His disappearance sparked a major hunt involving hundreds of police officers and local volunteers. More than 200 people joined the search for the youngster on Friday.

Officers searching for the three-year-old found remains – now identified as those of Mikaeel – in Kirkcaldy, Fife, shortly before midnight that day. His body was removed on Saturday from a wooded area behind a property in Dunvegan Avenue, Kirkcaldy.

About 500 people attended a memorial service on Saturday night, less than a mile from the home Mikaeel shared with his mother, twin sister and three other siblings.
