A blue Renault Clio was left abandoned at the scene and it is believed two silver vehicles were also involved. Police want to speak to witnesses or anyone with information about those involved. Detective Superintendent Nick Wallen, of West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: “This incident has taken place in the middle of the afternoon in a busy area within 100 yards of a childrens centre. Thankfully no bystanders have been injured, but at this stage we do not know if any of the individuals in the vehicles involved have been hurt as a result of the firearms discharges or the collision.

“A blue Renault Clio, registration number Y726BJT, has been left at the scene. We are keen to hear from anyone who knows who owns or uses this vehicle.

“We would also like to hear from any further witnesses to the collision itself or aftermath or anyone who has seen damaged vehicles being driven away from the scene.

“The people involved in this incident are potentially very dangerous individuals and we would urge anyone with information which could help our ongoing enquiries to please come forward as a matter of urgency.”
